23K XX Deep Gold (Glass Press Patent) - 16g - 3-3/8" Pack - Wehrung & Billmeier This is genuine 23K XX Deep Gold leaf in patent (glass press) form — 16g 3-3/8" leaf from Wehrung & Billmeier, made for gilders who lay real gold. Wehrung & Billmeier beats its leaf in the United States, carrying the old hand-beaten tradition into leaf made for working gilders — consistent color, honest weight, ready to lay. Glass-press patent leaf is pressed to its tissue under glass-smooth pressure for an exceptionally even transfer — made for flawless patent-leaf gilding on prepared surfaces. This bulk pack keeps production gilders supplied — buy the book when you want to try a color, buy the pack when it's your everyday gold. Use it for water gilding over gesso and clay on interior architectural detail and moldings. 23K XX Deep Gold is the warm, rich gilder's shade — the color clients picture when they ask for gold leaf. Handle leaf in still air — even a breath moves it. Keep books flat, dry, and away from direct sun; leaf keeps indefinitely when stored cool and dry. Wipe tools clean before you start so no oil or dust rides along onto the size. Details
