.999 Pure Silver Double Weight (Loose) - 32g - 3-3/8" Book - Wehrung & Billmeier This is genuine .999 Pure Silver Double Weight silver leaf in loose form — 32g 3-3/8" leaf from Wehrung & Billmeier, made for gilders who lay real silver. Wehrung & Billmeier beats its leaf in the United States, carrying the old hand-beaten tradition into leaf made for working gilders — consistent color, honest weight, ready to lay. Loose leaf comes interleaved with tissue in booklet form — lift each leaf with a gilder's tip and lay it onto tacky size. Loose is the choice for water gilding and for any work where you cut and place leaf by hand. A book is the right size to learn a new shade or keep a working stock of the colors you reach for most. Use it for sign painting and pictorial gilding on liturgical ware, icons, and fine art. .999 Pure Silver Double Weight is the classic gilder's shade — the color clients picture when they ask for silver leaf. Handle leaf in still air — even a breath moves it. Keep books flat, dry, and away from direct sun; leaf keeps indefinitely when stored cool and dry. Wipe tools clean before you start so no oil or dust rides along onto the size. Details
