DUX Acrylic Sealer Topcoat Gloss (Gallon) - W&B Gold Leaf This is DUX Acrylic Sealer Topcoat Gloss (Gallon) — sealer for gilding, stocked by Letterhead Sign Supply for working gilders and sign painters. Right sealer under the leaf is what makes gold stay put and shine; this is the shelf the trade buys from. Sealer goes over the finished gilding to lock it down — it keeps leaf from lifting, slows tarnish on composition and silver leaf, and gives the work a finished, even sheen. Apply in thin, even coats and let each coat dry before the next. Use it for architectural gilding and restoration on wood, metal, glass, plaster, and canvas. Seal genuine gold for handling protection; seal composition leaf and silver every time — they tarnish without it. Store sealed and at room temperature; keep water-based sizes from freezing. Stir or shake gently before use and strain out any skin that forms on top. Details
