DUX Acrylic Sealer Topcoat Satin (Gallon) - W&B Gold Leaf This is DUX Acrylic Sealer Topcoat Satin (Gallon) — sealer for gilding, stocked by Letterhead Sign Supply for working gilders and sign painters. Right sealer under the leaf is what makes gold stay put and shine; this is the shelf the trade buys from. Sealer goes over the finished gilding to lock it down — it keeps leaf from lifting, slows tarnish on composition and silver leaf, and gives the work a finished, even sheen. Apply in thin, even coats and let each coat dry before the next. Use it for glass gilding and reverse-glass work on interior architectural detail and moldings. Seal genuine gold for handling protection; seal composition leaf and silver every time — they tarnish without it. Store sealed and at room temperature; keep water-based sizes from freezing. Stir or shake gently before use and strain out any skin that forms on top. Details
