The government vocational manual, as an instant download.

Show Card Writing: For Disabled Soldiers, Sailors and Marines (1919) from the U.S. Federal Board for Vocational Education is the government-issued vocational manual — card writing taught as a trade to returning servicemen. Short, direct, and with unique historical provenance.

Inside this 1919 manual:

Show card writing was a trade of its own, and this 1919 manual teaches it like one: one-stroke show card alphabets, price-ticket and sale-card layouts. Show card writers, retail advertisers, and sign painters lettering retail work — price tickets, sale cards, window displays — will find alphabets sized for real card work.
