Green Abalone Dark Inlay Sheet

Deep green abalone in strong blues, greens and pinks, solidly colored across the face. Serious color saturation for work that has to read from a distance.

Genuine thin shell veneer sheet, approximately 9.5 x 5.5 inches, .006 to .009 inch thick. The classic reverse-glass and overlay stock — flexible enough to follow gentle curves, thin enough to cut with a blade or sandblast through a mask for the finest detail.

Working with this shell

Transfer your design, then cut with 2–3 light passes of a sharp blade rather than one heavy cut. For sandblasting, seal both faces with shellac, mask, and blast with fine abrasive. Colors deepen over a black substrate. The material is delicate — trim with care. Wear a respirator: shell dust is hazardous.

Please note: Deeper, darker base tones with abundant pastel pink and red coloration; occasional green and blue flashes.
