23K XX Deep Yellow Gold (Patent) Book of Five Leaves - Giusto Manetti This is genuine 23K XX Deep Yellow Gold leaf in patent form — leaf from Giusto Manetti, made for gilders who lay real gold. Giusto Manetti Battiloro has beaten gold leaf in Florence, Italy since the 1600s — leaf beaten the slow way, leaf by leaf, the way master gilders have used it for centuries. Patent (transfer) leaf is pressed to a tissue backing so you can press it straight onto the sized surface — faster to lay, ideal for large flat areas, outdoor work, and oil-size gilding. A book is the right size to learn a new shade or keep a working stock of the colors you reach for most. Use it for sign painting and pictorial gilding on liturgical ware, icons, and fine art. 23K XX Deep Yellow Gold is the warm, rich gilder's shade — the color clients picture when they ask for gold leaf. Handle leaf in still air — even a breath moves it. Keep books flat, dry, and away from direct sun; leaf keeps indefinitely when stored cool and dry. Wipe tools clean before you start so no oil or dust rides along onto the size. Details
