Shell Gold - 23.75K (Medium - 1.1 grams) - Giusto Manetti
This is Shell Gold — genuine gold ground into paintable shell gold. Shell gold is the illuminator's gold: real karat gold you paint on with a brush for fine detail, highlights, and manuscript work.
Activate with a drop of clean water and paint it like watercolor over your prepared ground. Build thin layers for the richest color; burnish gently once dry for shine.
Use it for water gilding over gesso and clay-style detail on signs, panels, and dimensional letters — the gold for work too fine for leaf.
Keep powders sealed and dry; fine metal dust and open flame don't mix. Wear a dust mask when handling loose powder.
