Baker’s Show Card Book (1916) by William Joseph Baker is the practical show-card book from the trade-press era — working methods, alphabets, and card examples from a jobbing card writer. Straight trade content.

Inside this 1916 instructor:

The 1916 show card man earned his living with speed and consistency, and this book trains both: brush handling for card work drilled until the hand obeys. Show card writers, retail advertisers, and sign painters will recognize letterforms still in use on retail signage today.
