Vinyl Primer "Metro-Prime"

  • Metro Vinyl Primer is a waterborne flexible acrylic coating formulated for use as a primer for vinyl. It combines fast dry convenience with outstanding adhesion, sealing and stain blocking properties. It acts as a barrier/tie coat for vinyl and prevents plasticizer migration (and thus prevents the drying and adhesion problems that migration cause). It prepares the vinyl for top coating with Bulletin Colors and other oil and water based paints. Metro Vinyl Primer is also designed for use as a block-out for previously painted vinyl signs and computer generated vinyl signs. It is recommended for blocking out stains (checks the bleeding of reds, fluorescent and other staining pigments) and for use as an undercoat for water and oil based topcoats.
  • Dry Time: @ 70 F; 50% Relative Humidity: Dries to touch - 1 hour; to handle - 2 hours; to re-coat - 2 hours. Full cure - 8 hours. Will take longer to dry under colder or more humid conditions.
  • Application Methods: Brush, roller or spray.

Vinyl-Cote Primer Flat

  • Vinyl Cote Flat is a durable, water-based, acrylic clear coating formulated for use as a primer and topcoat for untreated vinyl and painted vinyl signs, banners, awnings and bulletins. It dries to a flexible, weather resistant finish and exhibits excellent adhesion to treated and untreated vinyl and many other substrates. When applied as a primer on untreated vinyl it prevents plasticizer migration and the adhesion and drying problems caused by migration. It prepares the vinyl for top coating with Bulletin Colors and other oil and water based paints. Vinyl Cote Flat is also formulated for use as a topcoat over conventional oil and water based finishes and on a variety of different substrates (wood, glass, plastic and many synthetics). Cures to a clear, non-yellowing, flat finish and therefore can be used directly on pictures, murals, portraits and vinyl graphics without altering the colors.
