Lettering in Ornament (1902) — Digital Download

Day on lettering as decoration, as an instant download.

Lettering in Ornament (1902) by Lewis F. Day treats letters as decorative material — how lettering behaves in ornament, borders, panels, and architectural settings. The strong design-craft crossover title for sign artists who decorate as well as letter.

Inside this 1902 manual:

Lewis F. Day (1902) assembled Roman capitals and their derivatives as a designer’s toolkit — 246 pages to trace, adapt, and letter from. For lettering artists, sign painters, engravers, and calligraphers, it is a century-old idea file that never goes stale.
