This is the brush Alan Johnson uses to sign his panels. A dagger-style striper from Mack's script and liner family, it handles like a pencil — two-sided, precise, and built for fine detail work. The full synthetic golden taklon filament has extra-long length for smooth, flowing pulls.

Striping lines are pulled, never pushed. Work from the belly of the brush at a low tilt and let the hair do the work.

The synthetic filament was developed for denser water-based paints, and it works just as well with enamels and urethanes — synthetic doesn't mean water-only.

The 4/0 is the finest size in the Alan Johnson series: made for signing and the finest hairline detail. Step up to a larger size for broader detail work. This is a detail brush, not a rough-surface brush.

Brush care: clean with the paint's own solvent, keep paint out of the ferrule, and hang hair-down to dry. Preserve with Mack Brush Preservative. Oil storage is for oil-use brushes only — never store a brush that's been used in water-based media in oil.
